How does it sound and is there a way to disable it? Does it still work if you plus in external speakers or headphones? I'm ordering a Mac mini when Tiger comes out! Very Happy

My kids use the internal speaker exclusively on their minis. It's "not bad". I BELIEVE that the internal speaker is disabled if you plug in speakers/headphones.

Yes...the internal speaker is disabled when you plug in something into the jack. I was surprised with how good the internal speaker actually sounds. It's not going to blow you out of the room but it is somewhat useful if your short external speakers.

It does turn off the internal speaker when something is plugged in the back. I don't think the internal speaker is good for much at all. A $10 pair of powered speakers are better than the internal one; I'd rather they left it out. Just my opinion.
