I have been on mac pro forums I have read some discussion on that pci card. read this thread

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=926943&highlight=usb3

I will hold off on buying the card due to the above thread.

I have been playing with the new pro. Like I said in terms of power it is silly overkill. I have this part

http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/MXPCIE6GRS/

grabbed it open box for 65 bucks

I have 2 of these

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150492312971&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT#ht_866wt_1139

I have 3 of these in the pro as a raid0 osx boot drive

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136592&cm_re=wd_1.5tb-_-22-136-592-_-Product

I have this as another osx boot drive in the pro

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220485&cm_re=patriot_inferno-_-20-220-485-_-Product

First off it is soooooo fast.

Second off I am able to clone from the pro to the owc qx2 at 220mb/s

third off I am looking to buy this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815108012&cm_re=belkin_usb_pci-_-15-108-012-_-Product

this will give me 10 usb hubs 2 in the front and 8 in the back . barefeats posts a lot on this fourm

http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1

seems like me a lot only more organized and making more coin then I do

this is a refurb mini the fastest there is

http://store.apple.com/us/product/G0H50LL/A?mco=MTg4MjQ1MjM 700 plus

this is a refurb pro

http://store.apple.com/us/product/FB871LL/A?mco=MTEzMjY2NTA 2100 plus

buy the pro if you can push. by the time you add on all the stuff the mini needs it costs a lot more then the 700 dollar price tag.

with no effort or thinking 8tb is a breeze in a pro. at speeds of 250mb/s

the mini needs an external and without the esata hack your speeds are 75mb/s.. the mini need to get sold every two years to be replaced with a better mini
the mini is harder and harder to mod.
