|
|
I just bought a new 13" MBP and have been looking to sell my mini. I did a full wipe and install of OS X on the internal drive so that whomever purchases it will be able to get it like brand new. I also attached my old 80GB drive that came with the mini, which had the original version of 10.5.2 that came with the mini installed. I wanted to boot from the external drive so that when I sold the mini, whomever purchased would set up all the computer information on the fresh install on the internal drive.
I have 10.5.2 loaded on the external drive and running just fine, however when I go to run Software Update and run the bundle package to get to 10.5.8, after the install the machine restarts, but then gets stuck with the apple logo and the small circle on the grey screen.
I did this twice, the second time opting to only install the OS X update and not the other itunes, etc., updates as well. Same problem.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Try grabbing the combo updater and upgrading from 10.5.2 to 10.5.8 manually

Did you try looking for one of the other combos, 10.5.3 10.5.4 etc.
I thought you could just put on the latest one to get them all. You may want to try it going through the intermediate ones. _________________ Phil

I tried downloading and running 10.5.3 (not the combo one), got 7/8 through the installation before it froze the computer up.
oh well, i've got a buyer coming tomorrow. i've got 10.5.2 running just fine, and they'll have to worry about getting it upgraded to 10.5.8 _________________ 13" MBP 2.4GHz, 4GB, 250GB
