Odd, you might just try TextEdit in your Applications folder; I've never used iWork/Pages but I find it curious that a simple txt file is causing it to crash. _________________ 2.0 GHz i7 Mini 8 GB RAM, OWC Merc Extreme SSD & Samsung Spinpoint

Of course, the fact that the file has a .txt extension on the outside, doesn't necessarily mean it's a plain text file on the inside...
I believe Microsoft Word on the Mac can (try) and open any file. It has a "Recover text from any file" option in the "Open" dialogue.
Actually, like Philip, I'd go for TextEdit first though. _________________ Martin at HeadSpin HD now on Blu-ray |

| Are you doing this in Windows or OS X? I'm a bit confused on that. Either way, if you're trying to convert a TXT file to a DOC file or something, I'd just open the txt file, copy the content and then paste it into your other program. |

okay I am on another forum someone sent me files that are windows.
I am 100 percent mac. I logged onto his server and dragged a folder with 10 songs and 2 pages of instructions of how to go to a diy speaker fest in the brooklyn navy yard. of course he is 100 percent pc so I am sure his music and his files need some way to translate them. the music is wma i used to have filp for mac I can't find the program to translate the 10 songs and I have not done any pc/windows worksince the 90's _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram

Philip are you looking to just play the wma's? You can use iTunes to convert them. I don't see wma's much anymore. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

I'm on my work PC right now, I'd be happy to try to open the text files and send them back to you in a readable format if you want. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)
