My new mac mini 2010 produces flickering image on my Samsung SyncMaster 206BW monitor (plugged using the provided HDMI to DVI adapter) : it isn't obvious overall, however it especially shows on some dark gray colors (very disturbing for example in GarageBand and some dialogs - Kontakt 4 ones, etc.).
It's like an old CRT monitor with too low refresh rate. It was ok with my previous mac (G4 MDD) on the same monitor (also using DVI), whatever refresh rate (60 and 70Hz).
Using the mini display port to VGA adapter (instead HDMI to DVI) fixed the flickering problem (or at least it isn't easily noticeable), however the image is then oversaturated, with a huge pink tint, and of a poor quality, unusable.
Today Snow Leopard graphics update didn't help.
I wonder if this is a hardware problem with my mac mini unit (chipset problem), or a driver software problem (that is more likely), or a compatibility problem between the chipset and monitor model (same monitor was fine with the G4).
