Hi guys. my mac mini is here for Christmas, finally! Cant wait! Can you tell me about the classic enviroment a little? I know it comes on a cd, and you can switch between the two? do you have to INSTALL the whole os, or can you run off of cd?
Do you guys have any screenshots?

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I've never felt the need to check out Classic mode. The mini is my first Apple computer. I wouldn't worry about it unless you own tons of OS 9 software. OS 9 and Classic mode won't even matter once Apple moves to Intel because they are giving up support for OS 9. There are more than enough native OS X software out there to keep you busy. _________________ 1.42 ghz Mac mini

| I'm with Cookie on this. My first "modern" (ie, since the Mac IIsi) Mac was a used iBook 12" I bought a couple of summers ago and it came with the Jaguar CD's. I did a clean install of it and put Classic/OS 9 on there. I've never used it ever. Never had a need. Considering the small hard drive on that iBook (10GB) I should uninstall it but I never use it other than checking email with it. I wouldn't bother. |

Here's an article with some tips and screenshots. I'm in the same boat as Cookie and Mark2741. I can't even remember the last time I used it.
