Apple Releases Java Updates for Leopard and Snow Leopard

Apple has released Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 2 and Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 7 via their Software Update utility and website. According to the company, Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 2 delivers improved compatibility and reliability by updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_20. It also includes improvements in security, which you can learn more about here. The update weighs in at 78MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6.3.
Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 7 delivers improved compatibility and reliability by updating J2SE 5.0 to 1.5.0_24, and updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_20 for 64-bit capable Intel-based Macs.. It also includes improvements in security, which you can learn more about here. This update weighs in at 122MB and requires Mac OS X 10.5.8.

no reboot required here.
My recently installed Chrome browser would not show The National Weather Service looping radar up until yesterday...the Java Update seemed to take care of whatever needed taking care of

Does anyone ever wonder what they truly fix in these java updates they come out faster and faster and faster i use my computer for a week after updating and there is another one why cant they build a bug free version of java instead..
or a java substitue this gets old fast. |
