|

AT&T is revamping its data plan lineup ahead of the widely expected, next-generation iPhone, although the move affects AT&T's entire smartphone line going forward. In short, AT&T is adopting a metered usage model.
I think this is a bunch of crock. Give you less and charge you more plan.

I would have been one of those users of the iPad that needed the unlimited plan. Now AT&T has ended that and it stinks. It was available just about a month and it was pulled.
As I read several posts about this it turns out that their idea of unlimited was 5 GB. How is a limit of 5GB unlimited?
I'm also glad I'm not a Comcast customer since they limit data at home too.
I would really like to know how much data my computer accesses per month. Is there a program that can monitor that for me? I would install it to see just how much data I go through so I can decide on a plan for when I get my first iPad (or other brand of tablet when available).

As long as AT&T has the iPhone exclusive to them they can do this, once they release a CDMA iPhone (if they ever stop making illegal exclusive contracts with AT&T) I think I'm gonna want to switch to Verizon as apparently most of the area around Rolla isn't part of the 98% of Americans AT&T covers. Also, notice they plan on doing this and finally doing tethering, anyone else see how this makes no sense to reduce data and release tethering unless they are just wanting to suck all the money from their customers. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

Even though I have an AT&T smartphone plan, the regular phone plan, I think the new deal sucks.
Here's another article comparing how the new plan will work.
