my mac was find, I tried downloading a game and then it kept on turning off. finally I just get a gray screen with apply logo and the circular icon like it is trying to boot but it just stays there. I tried inserting installation disk with no success...........I was also deleting some files while earlier, but I though they were just applications that I has downloaded with games and such................could someone help me.......I am a newbie...this my first mac ...I just got it in March 2010

sounds like your HDD is corrupt.
When you insert your installation DVD try holding down "C" to force it to boot from the superdrive.
When the installation disk boots it should allow you to reload the OS. I think it also gives you some addition options which may allow you to diagnose and repair the HDD
