Chrome Beta Gains Native Flash Support, Speed Increases and More

Google has announced the release of a new beta version of their Chrome browser. According to the company, this update incorporates one of Chrome's most significant speed and performance increases to date, with 30% and 35% improvement on the V8 and SunSpider benchmarks over the previous beta channel release. It also includes an integrated Flash Player plug-in and new HTML5 features like geolocation, App Cache, web sockets, and file drag-and-drop. So grab it now from the Google website - it's pretty awesome. All you need is Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

| I don't get it not as fast as safari for me plus it looks horrible. Using it right now may give it a few hours before it goes to the trash bin. |

I originally started using it with a netbook and haven't looked back. I certainly don't see this release ending that trend. It's pretty darn snappy. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

| I like the clean look and the overall performance. I haven't used Safari in a while now. It always hangs and crap on me. Safari is the best mobile webkit-based browser though. I have fewer problems with it compared to the desktop version. |

I switched over from Safari after they fully implemented the bookmark manager. I haven't looked back since.

| I just started using Chrome again after I realized they had made some seriuos improvements. I find myself using it more than Safari and Firefox. As long as they continue to improve it I'll continue to use it. |

Great, it's noticeably faster than before.
Hopefully the flash player crashes will stop now too. _________________ Mac Mini 2.0 Ghz Core 2 Duo / 2Gb Memory / 500Gb HDD |

| It still resizes the browser window when downloading a file. Since it doesn't do that in Chrome for Windows, it's something that CAN be fixed. It's nitpicking to be sure, but it's enough to keep me using FF still. |

How does one insert a search box to the right of the address box? How does one add other icons like "print", "history" etc.?
From what I can see, you can't do any of these things? WTH? |
