Apple has released Security Update 2010-003 for Snow Leopard and Leopard via their Software Update utility and website. According to the company, this update is recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X. This would include fixing an issue with the handling of embedded fonts. The update for Snow Leopard weighs in at 6.50MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6.3. The update for Leopard weighs in at a heftier 218.6MB and requires Mac OS X 10.5.8.

I was going to skip over 10.6.3 because there were no security updates. Looks like it's time to do a full back-up then install 10.6.3 all with this update. None of the other 10.6.3 updates were of any benefit to me, but I don't want to compromise security.
Thanks for the post. |

I think it's strange this wasn't rolled into 10.6.3. I wonder if this shows up for the people with 10.6.3 v1.1? Oh well, no biggie. Who doesn't like restarting for a 6.5MB update? _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Just out of curiosity, has there ever been an update they DIDN'T recommend for all their users? _________________ 2.0 Ghz 2007 Mac mini (120 GB HD, 2 GB RAM, 10.6.4)

Somebody found over 20 security holes in SL; this update fixes at least one of them. _________________ Retired: Altair 8800, PET, TI 99/4A, Apple II
