I got a new iPod Mini today (apparently I have an affinity for Apple branded merchandise with name "Mini"), and I'm having the damnedest time figuring something out. How in the heck do I get the alarm to play music?
When I go to Extras> Clock> Alarm Clock> Sound, my only option is "Beep," and in all actuality that's all the thing does when it goes off. It beeps. Once. Not much of an alarm clock... |

Select playlist. You'll only be able to hear this with headphone or an external speaker. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Thanks G5.
The problem was that "playlist" was not showing up; only "beep." So I created a playlist by saving out my "On The Go" list. Still didn't work. So I did some deeper digging. Found several posts on the problem at iPod Lounge (where, really, I should have checked first, but I like y'all better). Apparently, it will only work with playlists you create in iTunes. Unfortunately I won't actually be able to confirm that until my Mini arrives. Right now I'm using an old G3 266 (beige a/v) that only has USB 1.1. (In case you're wondering my boss at my old job let me come in to load the songs I have on the iPod using his eMac).
I appreciate the help, and I'll post next week whether or not this is the problem (although I'm sure it is). |

You mean your Mac mini arrives? Cool let me know what happens. You may need to reset you iPod mini if on the go playlists are not being created. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)
