I currently have a BT homehub, but sadly the wireless connect is very poor to put it politely. 9 times out of 10 I get no signal. I have connected my mac mini to my hub via ethernet, and have set up an Ad Hoc network, (no network password).
My iPhone sees the network fine, connects first time, and shares the internet with the mini. Great I thought, it will do until I can get a new router. I fired up my Macbook, and although the Macbook can see the network my mini has created, it cant join it. Sometimes it will, but with a limited connection, like the mini isn't assigning IP addresses.
Anyone got any idea's? Its going to be a while before I can afford a new router, so Im really trying to get this to work as a short term fix. _________________ *Macbook 1.83 Core Duo, iPhone 2G 8GB, iPod Classic 80GB, PowerMac G4, iBook G3 Clamshell, Mac Mini G4* |

I had terrible problems connecting wirelessly to my BT HomeHub when I first got it. I phoned up BT's helpline and after a long game of "eliminate the blindingly obvious", I was told to change the wireless "channel" that the hub transmits/receives on. Never had any problems since. _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b
