I just installed windows 7 on my late 2009 mac mini 2.26 Ghz 2 gb ram
I'm planning on running windows media center, i have a lot of question.
Will i be able to use the IR with any windows remote? better yet will it even work? My bluetooth didnt work i had to manually install the apple driver on top of the Generic bluetooth driver.
If if does work which one can you recommend?
also i would like to buy two tv tuners so i can record one show while i watch another show with windows media center. will the mini handle two hd tunners? if so what can you guys recommend?
Also i have the freshes bootcamp drivers, but when i ran windows update the nvidia and the broadcom wifi card showed up as optional updates, i ran then and at the end it gave me an error saying that they could not install, has anybody been able to go fix that?
also what are some good windows media plugins.
i been a long mac user so im kinda few years behind on the windows side since i stopped using it, but i feel that this would be a much better option for me. I have been running Plex on the mac side, i thought about buying elgato tuners and software but i read some reviews how it is some what unstable.
anyways it seems like windows media center is pretty easy to use without the need of a mouse and keyboard, i just need to find the right remote.
thank you.
i also posted this under other operating systems but i wasnt sure whether to put it here or there, sorry for the repost. |

i use elgato tuners in my mini's they are pretty good. with your mini the 250 plus is a better choice. I am not sure about running 2 tuners. windows does not work that well on macs. there have been problems _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram

I use plex as my media front end and find it far better then WMC. Plex has a better look and far more features then WMC. I use windows 7 for TV captures with 2 HDHomerun network tuners and GB-PVR. I can SMB my captures to play via plex and this works great with HD .TS files.
As far as a remote I don't think you'll get WMC remote to work with plex but harmony remotes work great. _________________ If I knew I was going to live this long I'd taken better care of myself |
