Not bad but I'd rather have a Macbook. I'm just not "mobile" enough to really make use of it.

You're comparing the 16GB iPad vs. the 64GB iPod Touch.

I think a lot of people are going to share your point of view.

There's a lot to be said for a screen on a hinge and a real keyboard.

During the keynote, Steve Jobs introduced a keyboard dock accessory for the iPad. It charges it while in use.

^ but that doesn't work very well in a "student" situation, which is why I'm just waiting on a processor update to pull the trigger on a 13" MBP...

true. but if i had to chose between a 32gb touch for $299 or a 16gb pad for $499, i'll spend the extra $200 for much larger screen and more application of the pad.

okay, so i'm just hopeful that iPod touch prices drop.

That's great that you are feeling that way, then Apple priced things right, because I'm sure there will be other people that feel the opposite way. For $200 less with a iPod Touch you get twice the memory and a much more portable device.

I'm disappointed that it doesn't have a camera or webcam, but it's sort of a no-brainer at $499 for the e-reader functionality alone. Damn you Steve!

One last comment. The e-reader stuff is going to be awesome, but they really ripped Delicious Library and Classics on the look of the application itself. I kinda hate it when Apple does that.

Hmmm, a fat iphone that doesn't make calls.

No USB
No flash
No windowing

I just lost my enthusiasm.

Not sure how much it will cost, but they have a camera kit with USB and SD connectors.
