I just read this article on Wired about an iPhone helping to save someone in Haiti. I though it was pretty neat.

Surprised nobody replied to this post. On other forums there were a lot of comments on this topic, most of them were about the battery life of the phone.

I'm glad this guy was able to use his phone to help save himself. I'm sure we will see a lot more stories to come of apps coming to the rescue. Not just in Haiti, but hikers, snow-mobilers etc.

That's a good point though Bandit. The compass alone could be a lifesaver for hikers and such.
