so i am planning on puchasing a mini in the next month or so and had one quick question... I have a 42" hd lcd projection tv with hdmi input, if i get a cord that goes from dvi to hdmi and plug my new mini in with it, will there be any problems? thanks

Yes, it won't work.
The electrical specifications of an HDMI interface and a DVI interface are different. It is not simply a matter of changing a connec tor and using a different pinout. For that reason, I think you'll find that no such cables exist.
