It offers a quick an easy set-up, using a drag and drop features so users can create their ideal, and personally customized remote control interface for multiple devices. It would have been nice if it would have supported Bluetooth as well. Then we could have a true all in one remote.

Just to be a smuck I need to make this comment. Look how small the thing is. I have issues finding my large TV remote at times. Now I need to keep track of this little thing, then plug it into my iPod/iPhone to change the channel. Come on.

Sweet! The price doesn't seem all that bad either.

I don't think Apple will be coming out with a locator service through MobileMe for them, but you never know. Wink

God man, I can't even find my iPhone 80% of the time. I'm always calling it from another phone to find the darn thing. This thing would probably be gone for good in 10, 9, 8, 7...

At least you can phone your remote when you lose it.

I tend to drop my TV remote onto the hardwood once in a while. I'd be dropping my iPhone/touch. Oouch!

This little guy has me thinking. Wouldn't a bigger version that protected your phone/touch and charged up instead of draining it more sense. Something like the mobile juice pack with an IR transmitter.

I know some people are going to like the product as is, but I'm the type of person who always thinks of the positives, negatives and options.

I wouldn't mind doing something with iRed2, but I'm so buying one if the reviews are good.

Notify me please, because this is right up my alley. I recently bought an iPod touch just to use as a dedicated remote for HTPC.

Bandit Bill. I don't know if you're worried about battery life or just looking to combine accessories, but they sort of address the question about battery life in the FAQ. That being said, you can never have enough juice when it comes to the iPhone or iPod touch. That's why I always have the iPod touch sitting in a dock and charging on an end table. I guess that won't work as well with this attachment though. You better hurry up and patent your idea. Smile

Not the greatest looking solution, but I'm interested.

I definitely like this one better than the Kinetix Rē, which looks like it could easily be snapped off if you aren't careful.

There's also the UIRemote still under development. It uses the headphone jack, so no need to invert your iPhone to use it.

Hey Bandit, Sony just came out with an iPhone remote for their connected Blu-ray players called BD Remote. It's pretty cool and works great with our new system. I just hope they bring it over to the PS3 now, cause that would really rock. So keep an eye out.
