Just after getting over the strangeness of the bug that started deleting my films, I've got a new one:

I purchased and downloaded a couple of films from itunes and I tested them on my mini - they played perfectly. After the atv did an auto-sync with my mini, I went to play the same films on the atv. When I hit play, I got a white screen with no sound. The progress bar still worked and I was able to fast forward, rewind, pause and play, but all I got was a white screen. I tried some other films and they worked fine (non-apple films). I tried restarts of both atv and itunes to no avail...

Any ideas? I'm starting to loose patience with this little white blob of buggy software! Smile

OK problem kinda of sorted:

I've found various discussions on this on some atv forums and it appears to be a long-standing design fault from apple - thanks again fellas!

It just happens with purchased or rented films from itunes and there is no fix I could find. You just have to switch off, leave for at least 30 secs, and switch back on again. If the atv gods are with you then your film will play. If not, you'll have to keep switching the power until it does.

The film should still play on your mini and does not appear to affect films you've acquired from...erm...other means.

Apparently Apple are well aware of this problem and going to issue an update to fix it some time in the future.
