Chrome for Mac Beta Released

Today I installed Chrome on the 1.35GHz XP machine that I have to use at work. I had originally been using IE (geologically slow) but replaced it with Firefox (still slow to start, but quick to render webpages). However Chrome beat them both to a pulp -- when starting and rendering webpages, it was very fast.

So now that I'm at home, I've installed Chrome on my Mini and yes, it is quick, especially when visiting a site for the second time (and accessing the images that were stored on the first visit). But Safari isn't exactly slow on a 2GHz machine.

So, I'll stick with Safari on the Mini and enjoy the pace of Chrome on the slow-coach desktop that I have at work.

I wish they would have ported the bookmark manager, but thank god they still have the downloads manager with search. I think that feature trumps Safari's download manager big time. I like the layout and keeping everything in one window.
