|
|
Ok, so for Christmas I'm getting the iMac released late 2009. Very excited & just wanted to see if anyone here has this newer version iMac. This is only my second new in the box Mac I bought, besides my Mac Mini. I was going to get the White Macbook, but I'm not out & about a lot these days, so mostly I'd surf while watching TV, which I have my iBook for. I'll never edit movies & such on a Macbook when I have a Desktop. Plus the specs on the iMac blow the Macbook away. Christmas can't get here fast enough! Any opinions, suggestions, & comments Welcome. As usual, Thanks in advance! _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD

Enjoy the new iMac.
I have a suggestion. Don't do what my nephew did to his 24" iMac.
He's an extremely talented 19 year old that plays all sort of instruments. Well... he was playing his drums and decided to hook an instrument that he had created out of a garden hose and a resonating chamber (it was some sort of wah wah instrument that he could hum into while playing drums and amplify the signal). This was then hooked up to a midi device, which was then hooked into the iMac.
The home made device ended up causing a chain reaction, that fried his iMac. Smoke billowed out the top of it.
Yeah... don't do that |

I'm not quite as Creative or Adventurous as your Nephew. That is an unbelievable story, by the way. The only thing I'll be plugging into the Line In, is my Behringer Mixing board for Audio, no Midi. I have this same setup for my Mini using Garage Band & no Audio Interface. It works well with no Problems. I took the entire idea of using an Audio Interface out of the equation & the sound is super clear & clean. Most people of course use USB/Firewire Audio Interfaces. I don't! And I am quite happy with the Sound Quality of just the Mac's Line In port, utilizing EQ from the Mixer & effects in Garage Band. _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD

Tony, Yea very Nice. 8 GB's of Ram & Apple Protection. Sweet.
I bought mine on Black Friday from B&H in NY. It cost $1098. Free Shipping & No Tax, since I live in Florida. I think I got a great deal for what I'm getting. _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD

$1098 is a great price. I didn't realize you had ordered it yet. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

Yea I could not resist. Black Friday, most places including Apple took $100. off the Price of the iMacs. I would have bought from Apple but they would have Charged me Tax. _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD
