Mine is crap, but you get what you pay for. We don't need anything faster.

Mine running well at the moment but they are due to upgrade us soon to 100Mbps which means it will be a nightmare for several months following the upgrade as their network buckles under the added strain. My ISP is obsessed with speed and keep pushing it up, but every time for the last 15 years they have upgraded its fallen apart. I'm more than happy with what I've got and felt the same when it was only 10Mbps. A good quality connection that I can rely on is much more important than out and out speed.

Those are really fast download speeds. It must be fun to see things download so fast.

If you are in a household where you are sharing an internet connection with many other users and streaming video is involved, that's where you need that kind of speed.

I agree a 10 mbps connection is adequate for most individual users.

My guess is there are plenty of people out there paying far more than they need to to meet their needs.

One way to sort of cheat the system is to order IP based television from the phone company. This requires a fairly high speed connection so your internet speeds are going to be fast as well and you get a bundle price. It's something worth looking into if you have the option. If I hadn't already spent hundreds of dollars or coax based PVRs, this is what I would do.
