Titanium Software today announced the release of OnyX 2.1 for Snow Leopard, a new version of their popular maintenance, optimization and personalization utility. According to the release notes, this version of the software improves capability with Snow Leopard. It also dumps the installer in favor of drag and drop for installation, and includes a new uninstall option in the OnyX menu. OnyX 2.1 for Snow Leopard weighs in at 16.2MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6 or later.

It seems stable. The developer as done away with the installer and it is now a drag and drop app. Also it is a native 64bit app now. You still have the option of running it under 32bit mode in the "get info" menu. Congrats to the dev for another fine and FREE release! _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

| Do we need to take any actions to remove the old version before installing the new one? |

I always use AppZapper or the uninstallers with apps if they have them. . The older versions of Onyx have an uninstaller. You should be just fine installing the new over the old though. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

It's working much better for me. I couldn't even get past the two checks before in Snow Leopard. It would sometimes, but took forever.
I use AppCleaner to remove my stuff. |

| It seems faster and more stable than before. The 2.0 release was crashtastic in comparison. |
