MacUpdate Desktop 5.0 Released

MacUpdate today announced the release of MacUpdate Desktop 5.0, a major update to their application that helps Mac users manage and update the software on their system. According to the company, this version of the software was completely rewritten from the ground up and leverages the latest technologies found in Mac OS X. It also includes an improved user interface, Smart scanning, One-click updating, Update verification, Watch Lists, and the ability to archive older versions of software. MacUpdate Desktop 5.0 is priced at $20 a year for five Macs and requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later. A fully functional 10-day trial is available to all users as well.

I fail to see the use for this software, as most of today's software has built-in capability to update itself...
Can anyone convince me otherwise?

It kinda keeps everything in one place and does widgets, but I hear what you are saying. |

I was kind of thinking the same thing...whats the point? But maybe its one of those things that you don't understand until you experience it. Maybe someone who actually uses it can chime in.
