It would be fairer to call it a portable.

I did say in my post above we called them luggable's, not laptops in those days.
and a luggable just about summed it up. _________________ Phil

Aside from the fact that Dell appear to be resurrecting the chicklet keyboard, what's with tilting the keyboard towards the user at a stupid angle?
My Logitech's slightly tilted away from me, thanks to a couple of door-stops stuck under the wrist-rest. Same with the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000, although you don't need to do any door-stop DIY....
I sometimes think that designers come up with stuff that's "new" and "cool" without actually calculating its usefulness. _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

JB,
Speaking of design, other than my original iMac keyboard that I still use with all my Macs, the other keyboard that I prefer way over any other is this particular Dell Keyboard.
I can't remember its model designation, but the key springiness and response is classy. It feels well built and works beautifully with my Optiplex SFF, my Aopen Mini, and my olde Compaq Deskpro P111. The last of which is my Linux test bench / work horse.
