Elgato today announced the release of EyeTV 3.2, an update to their DVR software for Mac OS X. According to the release notes, this version of the software includes full support for Snow Leopard and numerous bug fixes. It also adds support for EyeTV for iPhone, a new application that lets you watch, record, and enjoy live and recorded TV from your Mac at home, on your iPhone or iPod touch. It's available now from the App Store for $4.99. The EyeTV 3.2 update weighs in at 97.6MB and requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later.

It took me a little while to get things working on the router side, but this app rocks! Well worth $4.99. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

| Yeah, I'm a happy camper. I've been waiting for something like this from Elgato for a long time. At least since the iPhone hit the scene. |

I'm having trouble setting things up. What do I need to do on the Time Capsule side of things? |

I don't have Time Capsule, but I was also having problems getting it to work. I knew I had forwarded port 2170 on my router properly, the firewall was opened in OS X 10.6, the settings were correct in EyeTV, etc. It wasn't until I rebooted the Mac that all of a sudden things magically worked.
Good luck.

It worked for me. Your computer(s) running the TV tuner should be on the same network your iPhone is on, when initially setting it up. ...also, EyeTV needs to be open and running for this App to work.
The only thing I'm having issues with - and I think it's the App, you can't set recordings when not at home, just view them if they're scheduled. |

| Thanks for the suggestions. I actually had to disable the firewall, but everything seems to be working now. It's pretty cool too! |

I have just downgraded back to version 3.0, because I lost audio on 1/2 my channels and some recordings as well....
The iPhone app worked well though!
Hopefully Elgato will sort out the audio problems soon... _________________ Macmini 1.83 Core Duo 2GB

Really like the app. Wished I had an iPhone so that I could watch my programs on the move, but at least right now it's like having an extra TV in the house...
The only thing I don't like at the moment, is that when the Mini is sleeping, the EyeTV app says it can't connect. I wonder if there's some some sort of "wake" option to get around this... _________________ My home setup |
