Netgear today announced the release of Stora, a new network attached storage device for backing up and sharing home media. The device allows users to easily centralize photos, music, movies and files and use them on nearly any network device. This includes the ability to centralize music collections and play them through iTunes. It can also automatically integrate content with remote photo frames and social networking sites such as Facebook, as well as serve content to other networked devices such as XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 game consoles, and iPhone and Blackberry mobile phones. Stora is priced at $230 and comes with a 1TB hard drive and one extra drive bay that can be used to insert a second hard drive for mirroring.

Looks a little Cube-ish.
I like the specs of the MediaSmarts better though. |

| I didn't read much into the features, but that's a nice looking box. The price doesn't sound that bad either. |

| LinkSys by Cisco just came out with a Media Server also. These things are getting more popular. But I don't think this one or the LinkSys offering use MS Home Server, which makes me wonder what they ARE using? |
