No camera or mic on the iPod touch ?!?!?!? Crying or Very sad

According to the Apple Store's iPod Touch page, the 32 and 64 gig models look as though they ship with earphones that incorporate a remote control and a microphone.

Did you guys see the video of Steve at the beginning? It's kind of moving.

I'm not sure that's quite the same, but thanks for the head's up. I missed that one.

Very moving.

But, if he's going to get better, he still go a long row to hoe. But the fact that he could do an event, I believe, is a good sign.

I hope his health recovers. It was sad to see him in that state.

With the state of his health and the event being "rather uneventful" I hope Steve recovers his strength and is able to impress everyone with a recovery of health and deliver an amazing keynote in the future.

I'm not sure how patients react to a liver transplant, but it seems that it would be a major blow to anyone's health. Now that Steve has the liver of a man in his 20's, he should be able to party like a college frat boy in no time Smile

Steve looks pretty good all things considered. And I'm totally with him on being an organ donor. I've been one since age 16.

Has anyone seen the event video posted? I'm surprised it didn't show up on Apple's site.

I never viewed the full video of the event either. Perhaps someone can post it when it's available.

Ask and you shall receive, my good man.

http://movies.apple.com/datapub/us/podcasts/apple_keynotes/sept2009_event.m4v

If that stalls out, you can download it via iTunes and the Apple Podcast.

http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?i=59936574&id=275834665

Right now I'm SOL because neither work.....

I was interested in the iPod Shuffle until I realized that it might drive me crazy trying to find songs in its memory. Confused

Just how many songs can fit into 2 gigabytes? I'm sure it is hundreds. Exactly how does somebody find a specific song on a Shuffle? If one must keep clicking the little button hundreds of times to find a song it would probably wear out the button very fast.

Can anybody here tell me how they use their Shuffle with so many songs on it? Is is easy to find specific songs in a huge 4 gigabyte capacity music player?

The new lower price for the small one is now just a little higher than the previous Shuffles sold in the refurbished unit section of the Apple store.

It depends on what you have them encoded at, but Apple rates them at 500 @ 2GB and 1000 @ 4GB with 128kbps songs.

Not really, but the new Shuffles are better with playlist support. You just use voiceover thingy to go through them.

If you're really worried about navigation, go with the nano. The Shuffle is more about dropping playlists on or a couple dozen songs to workout and stuff. That's basically what I use my older one for.

I agree, and I believe that is the way Apple sees the device. If you don't like the current song/track you hit the shuffle button and hope the next song/track appeals to you.

If you don't plan a syncing the device quite often then the Shuffle likely isn't for you. It is getting to be a much more desirable device as the storage capacity increases.
