Then a jump from 2 to 2.53 should show more improvement than a jump from 2.53 to 2.66.

There must be something wrong with the benching software, have your brought it up with the devs?

Yeah there is something wrong with xBench.
IT'S OUTDATED

Version History
1.3 [2006-08-13]

To sum it up XBench is not optimized and written for intel macs. As our friends across the pond would call it, "it's rubbish". Wink

Nothing against you Jalyst. Certian people can get really caught up in the whole Xbench scenario.

Just curious why people would even buy from the Apple Store if you can get it from jr with no tax. Have people had problems with jr or something?

jr.com is a very good company, but they have 1 store in manhattan the rest is all net orders. people want to walk into a store for help. the thing is you can bring the jr purchased mini into any apple store for repairs. also jr only sells 2 minis and has no custom setups. since the 800 dollar 2.53 mini is so complete in this case. jr is a good deal for all except New Yorkers. jr charges you tax if it is in New york.

I just ordered my 2.53 mini and you saved me about $80! Sales tax in Tennessee is nearly 10%. I knew about J & R but I didn't know they didn't charge tax for my state like Apple does. I'm going to put that $80 towards an external HDD. Very Happy

Now for me to sell my 1.83 mini with 250gig 7,200 RPM HDD.I plan on getting Final Cut Express and some speakers with that money.

It pretty excited about this one, because unlike the 1.83 C2D and the 1.66CD this one has a strong processor, and a fairly good graphics card.

the 2.53 and the 2.66 are both really nice. The 2.53Ghz stock model is a huge boost over your machine.

I started out with a 1.66
then a 1.83
a 2.0
a 2.26

now the 2.53 and the 2.66.

I have to sell a few older models myself! i have a 2.0 2008 model and a 2.0 march 2009 model .

Cool. I used to live 20 minutes from the J & R brick and mortar store. When I lived in NYC.

Now at 60 miles away in Howell New Jersey It is a nice discount to buy from them. If the gear breaks I bring it to the nearby apple store at the mall.
