aluminum foil is your friend fold a small piece and put it on the end of the battery then close it up. should give you a tight connection. if this fix works you have two choices rma it because for the price apple charge for the keyboard. that should not be off by the 1/32 of an inch. or since it is now working just use it for 10 months then rma it.

That would probably work, but I called Apple today and got a replacement coming. I just don't want to be bothered down the line toward the end of the warranty. Plus, I paid enough for this thing to be absolutely perfect.
