Happy Friday, everyone!
Now that late 2012 refurbs are showing up occasionally, I'm looking at picking one up, but I'm wondering if anyone is using it as I am. I currently have a 2011 HD 3000 that I have networked to stream EyeTV to a couple of other MacMini's running EyeTV. The problem is my 2011 creates stuttered video. In looking around, I'm not alone there it appears, and the HD 3000 graphics seem to be the culprit. The network is a hardwired Cat 6 gigabit network and my throughput it fantastic, so I don't think the issue lies there.
Is anyone using the new Mini with the HD 4000 graphics in a streamed HDTV environment with success?
Many thanks! |

I would guess that it's really more of an overhead issue with EyeTV, but as I don't have one I can't be definitive. The HD3000 while not a powerful GPU is more than capable of playing straight BD mkv rips and played via Plex.
Can't answer if the HD4000 would potentially be better as my 2012 Mini is headless, but it is a step up from the HD3000. You can probably search the net for benchmark comparisons between the two and hopefully get some feedback from somebody that uses EyeTV with one. _________________ 2.0 GHz i7 Mini 8 GB RAM, OWC Merc Extreme SSD & Samsung Spinpoint
