Just curious to see who here works in the IT field and what sort of work you do. As of right now I'm in the military and, ever since I switched to mac, I'm starting to really get into Unix and all it's variations and am looking to make a career out of it after my enlistment.
also, any resources you regularly go to to keep up with the industry wouldn't hurt either. |

Does Forensics count...? .....
I am not working in an official government capacity ......'yet'....even though I was recently offered a job with SAPOL, who run one of the best Forensics (computer divisions in the country)...
But should I go for it.....?
Or continue working for my own 'private enterprise' group of Forensic Misfits & Hackers & Miscreants...
(Let's just say, we're the guys who you can call to clean up all traces incriminating evidence from your computer/s servers etc; so that no one...( AND I mean no one.) ..can ever recover it.
(Unless you have a scanning electron microscope and months of time to spend on it)
Of course the fees are substantial
