Point made. Apple TV, although it has HDMI out, is still limited to 720p if I'm not mistaken. I wonder how well the Apple TV product is doing at this time. I suppose it really would die if full HDMI was delivered to the Macs. Of course, there are still those customers out there that will be drawn to the AppleTV for its simplicity.

You sure HDPC isn't an issue for Macs? I recall seeing something recently where a warning message was generated from the Mac OS regarding a
"playback problem" with a certain display device attached.

Heck, HDCP is a problem for me still on the Windows side. I have a so-called HDCP compliant video card installed in my PC and I have problems playing back HD-DVD unless I use a software work-around.

Found my answer regarding Apple TV Sales:

Uhg.

Apple has already embraced HDCP.

for me the answer was mini-display to DVI then a DVI to HDMI cable to the TV and the Toslink 12 foot optical sound cable to the receiver.

i have no sound going to or from my tv anyway and with this affordable setup you get full quality pic and sound from the Mini.

an HDMI carrying full digital sound and picture would be nice but having to use a separate cable doesnt bother me as my Mini stays in one place and once i plug in the 2 cables im done and forget about it.

Just saw a small review on Gizmodo and it sounds pretty good.

I would definitely be a buyer of this product if I had the newer Mac Mini. I would love having HDMI quality for my mini.

I wish they had gone more into the audio aspects of this adapter. What all does it support?
