Posted by: Charles
Apple has released the Bluetooth Firmware Update 2.0 via their Software Update utility and on the Web. According to the company, this update provides bug fixes and better compatibility with the Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard. It installs on all Macintosh systems with Bluetooth based on the Broadcom chipset. The Bluetooth Firmware Update 2.0 weighs in at 1.78MB and requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 or later.

| I've been losing my Apple keyboard connection from time to time for no reason. I hope this update helps. |

I updated, but now my Mighty Mouse gets all wonky when I pair up my Sony headphones. Now what? |

I wondered why it wasn't showing up for me. |

I've been getting the "Connection Lost" message all the time with my aluminum keyboard. It seems to come right back, but it's rather annoying. I even tried replacing the batteries in the darn thing. So you're not the only one hoping this update makes a difference. |

| Hmmm. It updated my 2009 mini but not my 2007 1.83. I get drops from both so always keep a USB mouse handy. |

It was a go on my MatteBook Pro, but not my 1.66GHz Mac mini. I didn't even realize that it used a chipset from Cambridge Silicon Radio. I thought almost everything made of late was from Broadcom. Perhaps I should start looking at the System Profiler more. |

This update hasn't helped. In fact, I think made things worse. I continue to lose my keyboard and now my Mighty Mouse is acting all strange and tracking poorly when something is being transfered to the Mac mini over AirPort. I'm talking like a file or something. But as soon as the transfer is complete, the Mighty Mouse goes back into action. I never had this problem before the update. |

Maybe the separate Airport update caused you harm? I haven't lost connection since the update so it has been good for me. |
