Dear All,
My father brought a Mac Pro back in May and is totally loving the photo, video passion/editing facilities on hand.
It has only been recently that he has been attempting to print photographs for my mother and family but he really appears to be struggling.
Please can someone pass on some advice on a recommended setup/configuration allowing his Mac Pro and printer to be friends
Printer Model: Epson Stylus Photo R800
Cheers

I have an Epson R800 and was having problems.
The mini and the Epson just didn't play well together.
I spoke to an Apple rep. at Best Buy (he's a friend of mine)
and he said to use a Firewire cable instead of a USB.
So I did. It still isn't totally, completely, 100% trouble
free like a $29 printer with Windows XP but most of the problems
(pooling forever or not printing) are gone.
I thought it was just bad software written by lazy
Epson wonks. Things work better with the FW cable
but its still not as trouble free as a cheap printer w/Windows. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

I have a great recommendation.
go buy a kodak all in one printer
the printer is 149.99 to 200.00 depending on model
the ink is only 24.99 that is for color and black (not 24.99 each)
you can purchase them online refurbished from kodak for as low as 99.99 and they have the same warranty as the new printers.
Some interresting information.
When mac os x leopard was released kodak had the only all in one photo printer that was ready for leopard and printing on leopard.
they also where the first to have a firmware update just for leopard for there printers.
I have a easyshare 5100 and i love it to death!!! |
