| yea i have looked on craigslist but with rare memory types like the imac g4 flat panel that takes a sdram pc133 and a laptop so-dimm that no one sells except online i would most rather purchase the memory new but if you can find it used there are a lot of stores you can go to to get ram and even cheaper then the online stores. |

The Mushkin ram I used works perfectly, now I have 1GB. Now to get the nerve up to change the hard drive, it looks rather daunting. From what I read you have to take everything including the mother board out just to change the hard drive. _________________ Mac Mini 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM 500GB HD

I wouldn't change it. I'd get a 1TB external Firewire Hard Drive MyBook. Firewire 400 is damn fast! Put all your stuff on that. That's what I do with all my Macs. All Media on Externals. Save yourself a lot of work. Unless your looking for the thrill of the Project. _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD

Dino, I think you are right, I'm just going to pick up another firewire drive. I'm already using a 500GB one on my Mac Mini running Snow Leopard, but it is in the house and isn't that easy to remove. The eMac is in my shop where I repair computers for a living, so I will pick up another one. I like having the ability to boot to it in case something goes wrong. _________________ Mac Mini 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM 500GB HD

Yes, I no longer worry about how large my Internal Hard Drives are. If you have a minimum of 30 or 40 Gigs your fine. If it just had the USB 1, than I could see changing out the Hard Drive , since it would be slow. But you have Firewire 400. It works out perfectly. _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD
