Hi,
a while back I needed a external keyboard for my MacBook and I came across the fact that there is a small, but annoying problem with the Apple online store.
I wanted to know how the keyboard layout looks like for the different English layouts.
So I went to the Apple store in London and asked if they could show me the different layouts, even if they can't sell me a keyboard other than the normal UK layout. But even they told me: "Sorry there is no such overview."
So I had the idea that I have to make my own catalogue of Apple keyboard layouts.
And now I have a little problem, since I'm not willing to buy every available keyboard (even "only" the external ones) I have to ask for pictures.
So if you are a owner of an Apple keyboard, then please let hear from you.
So far the enormous number of 4 different layouts is available on my home page. (At the moment Safari only! But that will change with the next update)
If you are willing to send me a picture of your keyboard then send me a PM and I will give you my mail address. Or post a link with a URL where I can get the picture from.

PS. Pictures of MacBook (Air/Pro) keyboards are also interesting. _________________ Mini 3,1 2.26GHz, 4GB RAM, 500 GB, Drobo with 2x2TB & 2x1TB WD Green, 1TB MyBook, OSX 10.5.6, APC RS BK800I

Well, I could snap some pics of some of the Apple keyboards I have. Mostly all ADB though....
I have numerous Extended IIs, a Japanese Extended, one of the Adjustable keyboards, and an early ADB Apple IIgs type keyboard.
For USB, I have one of the early iMac era keyboards as I wanted an Apple keyboard that has the start key on it, and then the people I bought the G4 mini from gave me their newer type white Apple keyboard. Then there is also my SGI USB keyboard that is hooked up to the peecee.
Oh, and I think, that somewhere I have a disassembled 5xx series PowerBook, if you are really interested, and I can find it...

Google Search for Apple Keyboard layouts
It returned a bunch.... See..... |
Sure I did it before, but there are two little problems with that.
First of all the copyright problem, if I want to put that pictures on my page I can get into trouble. Especially the high quality promo pictures are something where companies or photographers are highly willing to send letters to you. There was a story about iPhone pictures a while back for example. And since we had such a problem in my family already (not that iPhone thing) I'm not willing to have this kind of problems again.
And secondary, some of them are simply wrong labelled. I already found the US keyboard on a Brazilian page as "Our new Brazilian keyboard". OK that one was easy to discover. But what is the difference between an Swiss and a German keyboard? It's just a single key (as far as I know).

Hmpf... ok next time I should be a bit more clear. I was focusing on the time starting with the white keyboard. So that model, MacBooks (including Air and Pro) and the new aluminium keyboards would be enough.
But thanks for the offer _________________ Mini 3,1 2.26GHz, 4GB RAM, 500 GB, Drobo with 2x2TB & 2x1TB WD Green, 1TB MyBook, OSX 10.5.6, APC RS BK800I
