I wouldn't mind getting an 8GB nano on the cheap for summer. I wish they were on sale in red though. I've always wanted one in red to match my hat. Smile

It's a good deal. I've seen them on ebay used for about $115.

I would rather have one of these for $20 more dollars over that disastrous new shuffle. This gives you another 4GB of storage and a screen. Plus you can use other headphones.

Yea I got the new Shuffle and I want out. I don't mind the remote controls (actually I don't use the Apple earphones), but the shuffle is fragile to moisture, lots of bad reports on Apple support forums. I'm already on my 2nd one. Sweat effects the remote controls too.
For $25 more the Nano might be worth it.

Refurbished iPod nano 8GB: US - $99 (was $129), Canada - $115 (is $169 brand new)
Refurbished iPod nano 16GB: US - $149 (was $169), Canada - $175 (is $219 brand new)

If I'm not mistaken a new 8GB used to be $149, a new 16GB used to be $199 and a new 8GB iPod touch used to be $229 (it's now $259).

Are you talking about the actual player or just the earphone controls being sensitive to moisture? I really haven't read into them much.

A long thread on the Apple 3G support forums concerns problems when sweat gets on the in-line remote. In my case I don't use the Apple remote/headphones at all, and my shuffle stopped working right after some sweat got on the player itself.

Apple gave me a new one but I want it for exercising, who wants to worry about it getting sweat on the wire/remote or player constantly? Not sure what the return policy is.
I may go back to my Touch but it's bulky.

I have no idea about the sweat/moisture resistance of the 2nd generation iPod shuffle, but it's still available.

I haven't had any trouble with mine. I was actually thinking about buying one of the new models, but that moisture issue turned me right off. I mostly use the shuffle for working out and mowing the lawn. Needless to say, I sweat like a pig during those activities.

I used the previous gen. shuffle for a long time and got it sweaty sometimes. I sold it to a co-worker and it's acting glitchy now.

I like the current shuffle and use my better non-Apple phones with it.
But who wants to have to baby an exercise walkman.

I miss my Sony mp3 players....one hand ergonomic controls, 24 hour battery, much better sound.
