I'm not familiar with Chronosync, but CCC and SuperDuper! are excellent programs for backing up or cloning your drive. They don't cost anything either.

I have somewhat of a tech question for those more experienced Mac users, or those familiar with software like this one.

I would like to upgrade the hard drive in my iMac to a WD Black (likely 1TB), would this software work ok so I don't loose any data, or does someone else recommend a different software/method?

I asked MicroCenter, they're willing to install the HDD for me so I don't void AppleCare.

Thanks
Smile

I have used Carbon Copy Cloner many times to clone an old drive installation onto a new one. It works very well and is easy to use; I've never had problems with it. But make sure your new drive is formatted GUID (that's the default in an Intel mini), otherwise it won't boot your mini. It you format it from the mini, you'll get GUID but if it was formatted from a PowerPC mac, you won't unless you specify.

Superduper works better, has few bugs, and can allow you to test software using a "sandbox" mode, where the system runs off an external drive or another partition, while your documents and main system are not exposed to changes.

Excellent product!
