The Mac Mini Colorized
Wednesday March 9, 2005
ColorWare plans on adding the Mac mini to its colorful line of products. ColorWare is best known for the extraordinary paint jobs they do on other Apple products such as the iMac, iPod, iBook and Powerbook. Their products have been seen on TechTv and in the pages of MacAddict Magazine. So it was only a matter of time before they added a little color to the Mac mini. ColorWare sent us some pictures of the Mac Minis they plan on producing. The two colors pictured on the right and below are called Blaze and Carbon. Hopefully they will make around 20 colors for the Mac mini like they do for the other Apple products we mentioned. At this time we have no information on pricing or availability.
About Color-Ware Inc. - Established in 2000, is an industry leader in altering the color of existing products. The idea behind Color-Ware started with transforming the ubiquitous beige computer into a custom-colored work of art. Color-Ware is growing in excess of 48% a year and is presently expanding into custom colored business computers, home entertainment systems, and the office interior design field. Our focus: "We will continue to create and transform our products beyond what the original manufacturers intended."
We would like to thank Lars Rasmussen of ColorWare for the pictures. We cannot wait to see one of these in person!
[Update 3-9-05 1:30pm] We’ve learned that Colorware will be offering the Mac mini in 20 colors. They’re also going to offer matching keyboards and mice. Mac mini owners who already have their Mac mini can send in their case to be painted for $99 dollars.

| I'm just curious how many people actually like this custom job! Personally, I'd say it's hidious. Am I the only one? I mean: the Mac Mini is quite a jewel on it's own. Does anyone feel it needs this? |

I wonder if you have to buy the mini from them or can you send in your top for them to paint? _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

RED RED RED! At 99 bucks it's a little pricey but very tempting. _________________ 1.42ghz Mac mini

$99 is to expensive for a $499 computer but I 've read they really do nice work. |

| I'm suprised they painted the top and did not leave it white. I wonder if you can get that plastic to pop out of the case. |
