Does this play nice with Perian? I'm at work and can't test it yet. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

Does it have the option to deinterlace/detelecine video on the fly? Still no? Hmmm... I wonder why... Oh, thats right... it's only the year 2009. Ok, I'll pass on this update and keep waiting around another 10 years for this basic playback feature. What was I thinking? How could I be so full of hope?
I love my lawnmower. |

Yeah, it seems to be working okay. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

My .mkv files are doing fine in QT and Front Row. I didn't care for the restart though. |

Has the ability to change midi instruments been returned for QT Pro?
Or must I still keep a copy of the QT 6 player? |

I haven't updated quicktime for quite a while as it breaks Perian and passthrough. Anybody tested yet?
I just updated my mini to 10.5.6 and Ilife 9. Everything seems ok still so I might clone my disk again and try the new QT if no one else has tried or confirmed success or breakage.
I find cloning is easier than backing out QT (at least for me). |

Ok, I answered my own question. I 'tested' ac-3 after the 10.5.6 update but didn't test it after Ilife 9. Last night I went to watch a movie and got the machinegun effect! After checking the plist file and the midi frequency I eventually discovered that my Quicktime was at 7.6!! Must have snuck in with Ilife. I backed it down to 7.4.1 (using Pacifist) and all is well again.
So, YES QT 7.6 breaks passthrough! |
