Apple Updates White MacBook
Wednesday, January 21, 2009
Posted by: Glenn
Apple has quietly updated the white 13-inch MacBook. The new model features the latest generation 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo processor with a 1066MHz frontside bus, 2GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (up from 1GB), integrated NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics and Bluetooth 2.1. The rest of the specs for this model have pretty much remained the same. If you're wondering, that means it still includes FireWire 400 and Mini DVI ports. The price has also remained the same at $999.

| It's a shame they don't make one in black anymore. I would almost think about getting one instead of a netbook, but that white plastic just gets dirty too fast. |

That's looking like a pretty good value now. _________________ Young Buck 2.53Ghz Intel Core 2 duo (late 2009), Enhanced USB Monica.

Agreed..
I would be all over this revision if it came in black. |

Yeah, I would be more tempted if it came in black. A multi-touch trackpad would have also been nice. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Just a hunch, but I have a feeling it will be coming with the iMac. I wouldn't be surprised to see Apple have a desktop event like they did for the MacBooks in February. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

They are going to find it on the Island tonight.
Actually, this looks good for the mini. It seems that Apple is going to switch all the graphics over to the Nvidia chip while keeping or boosting the current specs. My guess is that the new mini will be a near clone of this laptop in a less expensive desktop package. _________________ Young Buck 2.53Ghz Intel Core 2 duo (late 2009), Enhanced USB Monica.

I agree. I just wonder what display port"s" they'll use? |

+ 4 on having a black model. In fact, I would take it over one of the new aluminum models. I just don't care for the super shiny glass screens or button-less trackpads. I don't really need a multitouch trackpad either. |

| I noticed that it's shipping out in 4-6 days and comes with iLife '09 preinstalled. That puts the ship date on magic Tuesday. To me, that bodes well for more updates and the iLife '09 boxes shipping out next week. |

I'm thinking those will be the specs of the new Mini. _________________ Mac Mini / Core2Duo 2.0Ghz / 4GB / 64GB G.Skill Falcon SSD / OSX 10.6.0

Wow, this update came out of left field. It also seems likely we are looking at the new Mac mini. Minus the screen, iSight, keyboard and battery that is. _________________ 2.4GHz MacBook Pro/4GB/320GB HD

With the independent video card and the FW400 port retained, this looks like good value. I agree with the others who have speculated that the new mini specs will be similar. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT
