iMac G3 DV Slot Loaded DVD 400 Mhz. 384RAM 10GB Hard Drive OS 9.2.2 - Tiger or Panther Upgrade Install
Ok, I am getting Tiger or Panther Disks. I want to know the procedure for installing Tiger/Panther, from beginning to end (so I don't screw up).
I'm currently running OS 9.2.2 (latest updates) & I have the latest 4.1 Firmware Update.
On this model, will I have to first Partition the Hard Drive as suggested with the Tray Loaders ?
Also, I read somewhere that I can upgrade to 1GB Ram on this model. Is this correct ?
Thanks in advance. As always, I do appreciate the help. _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD

Yes, you can upgrade to 1GB. I did in my slot loader.
Tiger is kinda slow on a G3, I mean - a bit slower than Panther. But I went for Tiger anyway.
You do not have to parition the drive. Just put the disk into the slot, hold "C" on powerup, install. The install will delete the current data, however. _________________ Wojtek |

I prefer it to wipe the old OS9, being it was not my machine to start with & there is some junk on it as well as missing elements. Thanks. _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD
