| OO 3 is a really nice office suite, but it's not as refined or speedy as iWork '08. I use iWork for everything these days. Guess I'll update Office 2004 on my PPC mini. I can't imagine a 15MB update making much of a difference in stability or performance though. |

No not really i have office 2004 on a old g3 ibook and really didn't notice anything.
I think mostly it is for security but considering that we have now had three security updates it looks like microsoft couldn't fix there software to save themselfs. |

| Is it me, or is it odd for a word processing program to constantly need so many security updates? |

How on earth does a word processor give a robust operating system more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese? _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

| Macros are usually to blame. That's why you should have your security settings set to warn you before opening a document that contains one. Other than that, I don't know what else could cause major damage. Especially on a Mac of all things. |

The only one i heard of from a web page a few month's ago was about a teacher that gave his students some assignment in hacking. and told them to hack his mac. and all the students where able to get in by using a office backdoor because of program holes.
but i would think that 2008 office would have removed this. |
