Google has finally released voice recognition into their mobile app. Tons of fun. I just wasted 25min at work! But seriously, I hope this opens doors to this being improved upon and implemented into other apps. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

Is that app part of their, "Summer of Code" program? If so, it will be open sourced, which will make the code open! _________________ G4 Mac Mini | 1.25ghz | 1gb | 40gb | OS X 10.4.11 | 37" Westinghouse HDTV

After playing with it today I've noticed a few things. It doesn't like background noise and if I speak quieter, it seems to work better. I was talking to it like people talked to natives in bad B movies. It didn't work so well. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

That's funny, it picked a search for tatonka right up for me.
The app seems to work ok. It's just as good as the OnStar recognition in my wife's car. In fact, I think it's even fussier with background noise. |

I know this is intended for the iPhone, but could it work with the 2G Touch with an added microphone? The 2G Touch has the recording function like the new Nano.
(Doesn't work, I just tried it with my Griffin Talk Mic/controller cable. Google says 'VoiceSearch only for iPhone', no option to turn on with the Touch. |

I always have a problem with those voice programs. I assume my voice is too heavy,(BarryWhite) type, and I can never get it to accept. It always tell me to repeat, repeat, repeat. _________________ G4 Mac Mini | 1.25ghz | 1gb | 40gb | OS X 10.4.11 | 37" Westinghouse HDTV
