I'm HOPING those two aren't mutually exclusive... Smile

It has been great to see this community grow from a few of us to a great big Macmini family! (feel the love!!)

Good job to EVERYONE.

This is my 100th post!!! I've been on the list 2 days short of a month.

Mavherzog, not only were you 1st to reach 100, but you did it in 8 days. I doubt anyone will beat that record anytime soon.

This is about my 7th post Sad. But I guess that is a good thing because I really haven't had any real problems with my Mini (knock on wood). The only thing I really had trouble with was a good keyboard but I got the Apple corded and its great Wink. I may not have posted much here but I think I have read every post on this forum so maybe thats why I didn't need to post also because any questions I had were already out here. Thanks to all for that one Laughing. I dumped Winbloze and Linux for my mini. I still have Winbloze on a secondary PC just for a few things (Mainly just for all day D/L's) but I use the Mini for everything else and I must say, I think my next system will be a MAC also. I love the GUI and everything just works. My reason for getting a MAC was because I was tired of tweaking Linux all the time and having hardware trouble and I just can't stand Win so I took the plundge and haven't looked back since.

Thanks all and keep the posts coming Surprised

[informative rant]
I have to say it because it's really bugging me. Mac is not an acronym. Its respective letters do not stand for individual words that create a clever phrase. Mac is short for Macintosh, a reference to the Apple. Because it is an abbreviation and not an acronym, it should be spelled "Mac" not "MAC."
[/informative rant]

This is for anyone out there that does this, not specifically you PeskyGee. It needed to be said on these forums as it had not been said here yet...I think.

Anyways, glad to hear your Mini is problem free. Just don't mess around with the RAM too much...

I'm right there with you on the Mac. If only my NW8000 wasn't substantially faster than the Mini and could play Half-Life 2, I'd be on the Mini all the time instead.

You're losing steam partner. I sense an overtake within a couple of months. Especially seeing you'll be working on the new house.

Yep, I can see that as well. Especially considering that newcomers such as Susurrus are forum-posting mad men!

If only we had some programmer forums here... Smile

I'm just doing my part to maintain the 123MacMini community, Very Happy. It would be cool if we had programmer forums, but that's what Off Topic is for. I do some programming, so hopefully I'd be able to help a bit. Unfortunately, most my experience lies with Java and not Objective C. I've been waiting for Tiger so I can use XCode 2.1 to learn Objective C.

I underestimated Susurrus. It only took him 11 days.

We have a new #1!!!

I have a background in Java and am just starting out learning ObjC. I've posted links to the books I've purchased here somewhere...they are great resources thus far...

Oh and this is probably the last time I'll be able to boast about being first ot a milestone, so here it goes.....

600th POST!!!! Smile (Susurrus will soon surpass me..I have no doubt about THAT)

I know some programming as I've been taking the basics in school. I took intro to C++ and intro to java. Java=fun but hard. My best program made a ball bounce around a box and change colors each time it hit a side of the box Very Happy

I'd say Java is easier than C++, but I've only really done advanced programming in Java; I didn't get very far with C++. Obj C should be a lot better because it's more OO, IIRC.

Java just makes sense once you understand true OOP. C# is comparable, but it still isn't true OOP from what I've heard. Everything's an object, blah blah blah. C++, not everything's an object and there're pointers and all that jazz.
