I have squirted the connector with WD-40 and worked it up and down several times. I've fitted a Seagate Barracuda ST3500418AS.
At present, copying masses of files to it via Firewire is going nicely, without hesitation. |

They don't call me Ex-spurt for nothing.
A spurt of WD-40 often helps.
Well, I have almost filled the Seagate HDD and everything seems fine. So the problem was either a bad connection or an incompatibility with the original Samsung drive. (I wish I'd known this back in 2007.) |
