DisplayLink today announced the release of DisplayLink 1.0, their first production driver for DisplayLink USB devices for Mac OS X. According to the company, DisplayLink USB devices are the easiest way to add an additional monitor to your Mac. This driver, with the relevant DisplayLink-powered hardware, will allow any Intel-based Mac to connect up to 4 monitors over USB. Compared with the previous beta driver, the 1.0 driver features improved graphics rendering, performance, stability and more. You can see a complete list of changes here.

Does this mean you can use this to link a second (DisplayLink-compatible) monitor (like the Samsung 940UX or the LG 206WU) to a Mac Mini?

Both of those displays appear on the list of supported devices, so I would assume they are a go. That being said, the release notes say that color calibration isn't supported with DisplayLink enabled displays.
