A glossy Cinema display? Now, that is a surprise. Laughing

There seems to be a lot of holes here. They're not going to make that display in a 20"? Sad

I guess 10.5.6 isn't coming today either. Sad

I'm sorry guys, but I think Apple has taken a big step backwards with these designs. I don't care for the glossy screens, bezel size, or color scheme. I thought the previous generation was more refined and professional looking. I mean, does everything have to look like the iPhone now?

For the prices asked, one should have the choice between glossy or matte.

I can't believe that Jobs thinks people want the MacBook to have faster graphics and a multi-gesture touchpad.

What people (me) want is a MacBook that doesn't fry your lap in normal operations and doesn't weigh as much as a Geo Metro engine block...

I totally agree Tony. I mean at least with the MacBook Pro. It was to be expected with the MacBook.

This is great...

Jobs: “Blu-ray is a bag of hurt. I don’t mean from the consumer point of view. It’s great to watch movies, but the licensing is so complex. We’re waiting until things settle down, and waiting until Blu-ray takes off before we burden our customers with the cost of licensing.”

Instead we'll burden you with proprietary technology like the display ports and glass track pads.

I'm not going to lie, while some of this is "neat" and all I'm really disappointed. Glossy ONLY across the board. The two ends of the line up are a wreck. The $1000 Macbook is now some nasty one off. 1GB of ram standard? Really? At least it gets a superdrive. The 17" MBP is now also a one off compared to its smaller kin.

With no news concerning the Mini (and no update in the store) the mini is now an even worse option. It is now clearly overpriced. I love my mini, but after more than a year with no updates and no price drop, it's seriously long in the tooth.

I don't know, but I bet the next Mac mini or whatever has a black and silver top. Smile

I don't have any complaints.

I think the new Macbooks look great. I'm just a little surprised by the price. I'm not saying they are not worth it. I was however expecting Apple to come out with a product that was much lower priced. What happened to the products that were going to cause Apple to lose some money?

Does anyone recall the quote from Apple (regarding, expecting a loss due to new products)?

Maybe their margins are just lower on these new models. I would assume that some of the new parts are more expensive than before. The LED screen in the MacBook comes to mind as one.
