Apple Releases Java Updates

Apple has released Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 2 and Java for Mac OS X 10.4 Release 7 via its Software Update utility and on the Web. According to the company, Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 2 delivers improved reliability and compatibility for Java SE 6, J2SE 5.0 and J2SE 1.4.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.4 and later. The update weighs in at 136.4MB. Java for Mac OS X 10.4 Release 7 delivers improved reliability and compatibility for Java 2 Platform Standard Edition 5.0 and Java 1.4 on Mac OS X 10.4.11 and later. It weighs in at 79.7MB.

I just started the download. I could go for a cup of Java to keep me awake. If I should fall asleep, wake me up when SquirrelFish Extreme goes wide.  |

| I've updated my G4 mini and my iBook and haven't noticed anything weird yet. I agree though, this is a rather large update for just Java. |

| Apple usually puts that info in the Software Update release notes now. I mean when it comes to restarting. |
